It’s February, and we’re celebrating and sharing the love! This month’s film, A Secret Love, is a tender, deeply moving documentary that chronicles the nearly 70-year love story of former All-American Girls Professional Baseball League player Terry Donahue and her partner Pat Henschel, a couple who kept their relationship hidden for most of their lives.
Through intimate interviews and archival footage, the film explores the cost of secrecy, the weight of societal prejudices, and the quiet resilience of enduring love. As the women face aging, illness, and the decision to finally live openly, the documentary becomes a powerful testament to devotion, courage, and the radical act of being seen.
Co-hosted by Carolina Aging Alliance and Project EngAGE LGBTQ+ Senior Resource Team Dinner will be served at 5:30 pm – all dinners will be potluck.
You are welcome to door dash or bring a meal just for yourself.
